Chickadees

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack frost nipping at our collective noses… The anticipation of Christmas was too much for all of our little Chickadees to take so we had a Secret Santa event so they could get a little taste of Christmas before the 25th.

We decided to have each of the girls bring two gifts each. One wrapped to be used for the Secret Santa exchange and one unwrapped to be donated to Toys for Tots. A price limit of $15.00 was set to keep everything within reason. Vincenzo’s was the site chosen for the December 12th event, but little did we know that Wednesday nights are Saugus High School Jazz Nights at Vincenzo’s so it was standing room only. Fortunately we were able to commandeer a small table for four to at least set our bounty on while we waited for our pies.

For our farewell of the evening we went outside the front door of Vincenzo’s and continued our Chickadee traditional send off. We recited the Chickadee motto and tossed the kids in to the air…

Our next meeting will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 20th at the Olstad teepee to gather and build our pinewood derby cars. Hope to see you there!
