Dates: October 3rd - 5th, 2008

Location: Big Rock Creek Camp is located in Valyermo, in the mountains south of the Antelope Valley.

Description: Located in the picturesque Angeles National Forest, Big Rock Camp is an ideal location for a easy to get to weekend of fun with your child.  Be sure to pack everything you need.  The town of Littlerock is nearby, but they have few stores.  If you forget something, you may have to drive into Palmdale which is about 45 minutes away.

Activities: In addition to games, sports and crafts, there are plenty of other great outdoor activities.  The camp has a low ropes course to test your rope climbing skills.  There are also plenty of great hikes to take on the marked trails.  Best of all, there is a large fishing pond that offers some great opportunities.  If the fish are not biting, fishing is also available out of the fish basins which are teeming with large rainbow trout.  You are almost guaranteed to catch something.

Lodging: We will be sleeping in teepee's which are on raised wood or concrete platforms.  Each teepee can hold up to 8 parents and children comfortably.  If it gets too cold, a large heated bunkhouse is made available.  There are large warm bathroom facilities that are centrally located.

Food: No food is provided for this camp, we bring our own.  On the 2nd night, all fresh caught rainbow trout are grilled over campfires for a superb meal.

Cell Coverage: Most tribes have reported no cell coverage whatsoever.  Cell coverage seems to be available by driving 10-15 minutes outside of camp.  There is a payphone available at the camp.
